neat old cars

There seem to be lots of old cars in Portland that are being driven and are in good shape. Spotted these two Chevrolets recently. The top one is a Bel Air manufactured '61 - '64 and the bottom is an Chevy Apache pickup made '55- '60. Just love seeing these old vehicles around.

more flowers and more art....

An early spring here in the northwest has caused everything to bloom - the lilacs, wisteria and irises are out.  I love having them in the house next to some of the art pieces that you see here.

Love spring in Portland. The lilacs are out, tulips still going strong and the little white blossoms are  apple blossoms from our tree. The bouquet in front of a painting by my husband Mario.

Everything is blooming  in PDX. We had a mild winte,  a sunny March and now we are enjoying a very colorful April!

march sunshine brings april flowers

March was mild and more dry than usual  this year and as a result many flowers and trees are out in full force. Tulips above and what looks like a miniature magnolia at the bottom grace our street.

Spring has arrived in Portland. Daffodils are out and lots of trees are blooming trees. Here are some spots close to home.

Saw these in the N Mississippi part of town - a colorful business sign 'land' and fish swimming upstream on a garage door.

street art

Street artists seem to like this stretch of NE Alberta St. The 'waiting for the bus' figure and the 'cat with attitude' are by the same artist and showed up one day on these corners. The last image is titled 'Fear not we are all one' and it was commissioned for the Black United Fund Building. I love them all!

happy valentine's day

Love the color red and old cars -  especially those that are still being used. The camper above caught my eye because turquoise is also one of my favorite colors and then I saw the dangling mirror!  The Ford pickup is in great shape and being used by a business. Happy Valentine's Day to all.

Top image - looking south away from the foundation of the Fremont Bridge toward 'The Pearl - an urban residential area filled with condos, apartments, cafes and galleries. Bottom image -  the Fremont Bridge stretching over the Willamette River as the river meanders through downtown Portland.
