Sunny December

This has been the driest December in Portland on record - usually, it is the wettest month. Great for getting out and taking pictures like these. The one at the top is the Steel Bridge built in 1912 and will celebrate 100  years in July 2012. The building in the other picture was designed by Michael Graves in 1982 in a style called 'postmodern'. It is near a park that recently was home to 'Occupy Portland' campers and is closed to be cleaned and reseeded.

  1. I love the Steel Bridge with not a cloud in the sky! Lovely!
We had a friend who thought that Graves designed the Portland building as a take on King Tut's mask. Now, that's what I always see.

  3. The same here - never had no snow around Christmas time in Chicago since I moved here in 1999.

Browsing through my channels last night, I discovered the series Portlandia and watched an episode. I am not sure if this is a realistic portrait of Portlandians??? I've been there only once, but LOVED every minute of it! (although it rained every minute of it *lol*)
